Jason Lampert studied English and Psychology at the
University of
Florida in the early 90s.
He soon found his passion for helping people solve their problems and work more efficiently, first working in the college computer labs, then as an IT consultant, and ultimately as a corporate IT specialist.
While employed with
ING Investment Management, he obtained a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, and led a multi-year national IT rollout project. Getting married, and working for a large financial services firm sparked an intense interest in personal finance and investing, and prompted a decision to return to college.
He received a BS in Business/Finance from CUNY's School of Professional Studies in 2010.
His interest in financial and life planning led him to pursue the Certified Financial Planner™ designation.
After passing the CFP® exam, he realized that his passion for providing accessible, unbiased, and affordable life and financial advice was absolutely the direction he wanted to go.
He has joined the Garrett Planning Network, where he met serious planners with the same passion for making financial planning available to everyone. This led him to his current affiliation with MTP Advisors, also a Garrett Planning Network member. Jason believes the two most important questions everyone faces are “What do you want to do with your life?” and “how are your current choices going to affect your life in the future?” As a financial life planner, he facilitates an ongoing discussion with his clients, examining and aligning their actions with their goals and values.
